on Blackness
Black Pacific Alliance (BPA) is an international non-profit organization that supports people of Africana/Pasifika or Melanesian heritage concerned with addressing anti-blackness and white supremacy, and developing cultural competencies within our respective communities.
BPA was established after the murder of George Floyd as a virtual space to share our critical responses to the disingenuous #PacificIslandersforBlackLivesMatter that was trending at the time.
We’ve taken what we learned during our virtual gatherings to create an organization addressing anti-Blackness in the Pacific Islander Community and to work towards undoing the erasure of Blackness in the Pacific.
BPA is fiscally sponsored by Social and Environmental Entrepreneurs (SEE), whose mission is to empower, encourage, and catalyze projects that facilitate progressive change in areas of social and environmental justice.
